Need a Refresher on Year-End Processing?
If you’re not sure whether or not you should attend one of these webinars, think back on the steps you had to perform for year-end processing last year. You started with backups for your company data, and then you had to close all your Sage 100 modules in the correct order so that modules with data dependencies could properly share information.
For example, Sales Order posts to Inventory Management, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger, so you had to prioritize closing Sales Order before Inventory Management, Accounts Receivable, or General Ledger. Other modules, such as Job Cost, shares invoices bi-directionally with Accounts Receivable, so you had to process transactions in both modules prior to closing either.
Performing the same steps this year can get tricky if you don’t remember the exact order you did everything in… and you certainly don’t want to be staying late at the office on New Year’s Eve as you rack your brain trying to recall which modules should be closed first. Luckily, year-end processing can be as easy as 1-2-3 if you prepare in advance with one of the webinars from ISM.
Whether you’re new to year-end processing in Sage 100 or you don’t quite remember the exact steps you’re supposed to follow, it’s a good idea to register for one of the two complimentary webinar sessions offered by ISM.
Additional Important Info for Year-End
The Q1 2018 Tax Table Update (TTU) and 2017 Interim Release Download (IRD) should be available for you to download during the third week of December. You’ll have to install all applicable product, 2017 IRD, and Sage 100 Federal and State eFiling and Reporting (Aatrix) year-end updates before you process W2, ACA, or 1099 forms for 2017.
Note that if you’re running Sage 100 2018, you no longer need to install Tax Table Updates.
