How Does the Migration Tool Work?
The tool is simple and easy for anyone to use. In essence, when you decide to migrate your data (also known as transferring your data) from Sage 100 / MAS 90 / MAS 200 to Acumatica, you’ll go through a few standard steps:
1. Meet with an Acumatica expert
This meeting, which can be with the ISM consultant you already know, will include an initial analysis to ensure that your business needs are compatible with Acumatica’s flexible ERP, and will grant you access to the migration tool. It will also give you an opportunity to discuss your cloud ERP go-live date expectations.
2. Verify your company information
Before you can transfer detailed data, you must first transfer over and verify your business information such as companies, chart(s) of accounts, subaccounts (“segments” in Sage 100), customer and vendor information, warehouses and other locations, and other basic data. This will all be input into the migration tool prior to other master data transfer.
3. Point and click
It’s really that ridiculously easy to transfer your remaining data from Sage 100 into your new Acumatica system. All you have to do is open the Acumatica Cloud Migration Suite and point to the Sage 100 information that you want to transfer. Data can be from:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- And more
4. Enjoy the cloud!
After you’ve transferred and verified your data, you’ll have the opportunity to go live on your brand-new, modern, cloud ERP system. Before your go live, you’ll probably want to do some training and the ISM team will want to verify technical details so you can be sure that your transition goes seamlessly.
